Medicare is one of the primary choices of coverage for seniors aged 65 and over. While there are many factors to determine what your eligibility is and which plan works best for you, we can still do what we can to make the decision much more comfortable for those who come to us for help.

What is Medicare?

Medicare is a government-mandated health insurance program for people aged 65 and over, people who have End-Stage Renal Disease, and, in some cases, younger people with disabilities. There are four primary types of coverage to fit patient needs.

What does Medicare cover?

Contrary to popular belief, Medicare is not an all-encompassing service. There are several plans to choose from, and each has different specifications we’d be happy to discuss at length with you. The following are the types of packages.

  • Part A – Hospital insurance. This plan encompasses all hospital services, from hospital stays to some health care services.
  • Part B – Medical insurance. Part B covers doctor visits, outpatient care, additional medical supplies, and preventative services.
  • Part C – Medicare Advantage Plans. This option can get offered through private companies and includes all of Part A and Part B’s benefits. Additional services include special needs plans, private fee-for-service plans, and more.
  • Part D – Prescription drug coverage. Part D adds prescription drug coverage to any of the plans mentioned above through companies approved by Medicare.
